Helpful Hints When Prepping for a Job Fair
- Research, Research, Research – Research the companies that will be at the fair. A quick web search goes a long way.
- Don’t Get Tongue-Tied – Plan some questions to ask to avoid awkward pauses in the conversation and to put your best foot forward.
- Proofread Carefully – Read over your resume to make sure it does not contain spelling or punctuation errors. Have another person review it too. Spellcheck does not catch everything!
- Follow Up – Ask for the prospective employer’s business card and send them a follow-up email or note. This is a step many do not take and it goes a long way to show you are interested.
