Jan is the founder of EARTHRES and he has completed or managed successful engineering and construction projects in most of our markets. Not a career consultant, he began work in the mining industry, working as an engineer and production superintendent in Tennessee, Kentucky, and New Jersey. His early business management experience is supplemented by diverse technical experience from over 36 years of engineering on solid waste, civil, environmental and mining projects, including the past 23 years where he has led the successful growth of EARTHRES. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in multiple states, Jan is uniquely qualified to understand and see issues from a client’s perspective. He sets the standard for the EARTHRES team in maintaining its core principals of partnering with our clients to help them achieve their goals.
Dave brings over 27 years of practical experience to EARTHRES’ clients with specialized knowledge in refined product pipelines and distribution facilities and cement and mineral processing facilities. At EARTHRES, he will provide clients with project development and engineering support, as well as adding technical expertise in process automation and electrical engineering. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania, Dave also holds a PMP Certification. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from DeSales University. He is committed to leading the EARTHRES team’s emphasis to maintain its Core Values and drive customer success.
Lou brings over 34 years of practical experience to EARTHRES’ clients, with specialized knowledge in water resources, site investigation and remediation, landfills, mining, and karst. Lou serves as an expert on matters related to USTs/ASTs, pipelines, sinkhole cause and mitigation, landfill hydrogeology, quarry dewatering, asbestos injury, and water resource exploration and use. Specializing in the areas of geology, hydrogeology and geophysics, Lou assists clients across all markets sectors at EARTHRES. Using his expertise, Lou has developed and taught professional development courses and has been invited to give presentations to industry groups, professional associations, and government entities. Lou is a licensed Professional Geologist in several states and holds a Master’s degree in Geology from Lehigh University.
Terry has over 30 years of diverse experience, including 26 years in engineering and environmental consulting prior to joining EARTHRES. Terry is a licensed professional engineer in six states with a Master of Science degree in Mining Engineering. He serves on the Pennsylvania Coal Association Board, Pennsylvania Aggregate and Concrete Association Associate Board, and as the Pennsylvania Mining Professionals Treasurer. He has authored and presented numerous professional papers. Specializing in engineering and environmental compliance, Terry has managed and successfully completed a variety of projects related to the planning, design, permitting, construction, operation, and environmental compliance of mining, industrial, and commercial facilities. At EARTHRES, Terry uses his expertise to successfully lead the engineering team and project management process across all sectors.
Dave has 24 years of professional experience in solid waste, civil engineering, mining and environmental consulting. As the Director of Solid Waste for EARTHRES, he leads the sector in supporting our clients through increased efficiencies, innovative technologies and engineering solutions, with focus on helping their business and bottom line. His passion for industry improvement was founded in landfill and hazardous waste repository design, and has expanded to all aspects of solid waste management including various waste conversion and diversion technologies. Dave specializes in waste management facility site feasibility and planning, landfill gas and leachate management, construction quality and operational support. Dave also has experience managing coastal protection projects, geotechnical and environmental site investigations, groundwater and soil remediation at petroleum, pesticide and heavy metals impacted sites, and performing mineral exploration and geologic hazard assessments.
Howard’s career experience is wholly within the natural gas upstream, midstream, and downstream business segments. He began his career with a gas transmission pipeline operating company providing engineering-based operations support. Since then, he has worked on the execution of capital projects and origination of pipeline transportation capacity projects and he has managed commercial, technical, and regulatory aspects of pipeline acquisitions, physical supply, capacity contracts, and divestitures. Howard has also worked in operations at a major U.S. LNG import terminal at a major integrated gas and electric company. Howard’s current role at EARTHRES uses his years of working for operating companies to guide efficient and effective solutions for EARTHRES’ Energy sector clients.
Scott has over 32 years of diversified management experience in successfully completing environmental site investigations, remedial actions, brownfield cleanup and reuse, and landfill permitting and compliance, site investigations, and remedial actions. His responsibilities at EARTHRES include the supervision of field sampling personnel; supervision and planning for environmental investigations and remedial activities; the review of geologic, hydrogeologic, soil, air and chemical data; contract coordination; and the development of work plans for subsurface and hydrogeological investigations. Scott is a licensed Professional Geologist in Pennsylvania.
William has over 16 years of diverse experience in engineering and project management in the mining industry. He has managed a variety of projects in underground and surface mining and aggregate operations including planning, permitting, and site development/construction. His experience also includes longwall mining operations where he specialized in underground construction projects. A licensed engineer in multiple states, his specialty areas include facility design, ground control, underground construction, and water/wastewater treatment. William manages and is directly involved in several operations support projects within EARTHRES’ Energy Sector and these projects can range from well pad access design, cathodic protection services, 3D scanning/modeling, and operational efficiency improvement projects.
Ezaz has more than 25 years of experience in various aspects of the petrochemical and manufacturing industry along with natural gas upstream, midstream, and downstream work in the energy sector. Ezaz brings a diverse skillset in engineering, account management, client services, and sales to EARTHRES. As a Senior Project Manager, he works in various stages of compressor station design including upgrades, well pad flow lines, Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) Fractionation and equipment design and Process Safety Management (PSM). His project experience in process and mechanical design of compressor stations, fluid transfer equipment and chemical process equipment includes fabrication, system installation, start-up and troubleshooting. Ezaz is a licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and holds a Master’s degree in Civil and Industrial engineering and B.Sc. in Mechanical engineering.
With over 39 years of experience in environmental engineering, Tom is the engineer of record for over 50 drinking water facilities, wastewater treatment plants and material processing facilities. He is licensed as a Professional Engineer in multiple states, is PCQI certified and is a host municipality inspector. Responsible for facility design and permitting, environmental assessments, contingency plan preparation and compliance strategies, Tom works closely with our industrial clients to reduce costs, divert and reuse waste materials and develop environmentally sustainable practices. Tom’s experience provides substantial and intimate knowledge of NPDES, RCRA, Clean Water, Clean Streams, Solid Waste, Safe Drinking Water and many other regulatory programs. Tom has a Master’s Degree in Water Resources Engineering from Villanova University.
Mike has over 10 years as an engineering consultant and has experience in the mining, commercial/industrial development, and solid waste industries. This varied experience provides a unique perspective, allowing Mike to provide innovative solutions to meet our clients’ goals. He is a Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Engineer overseeing the design, approval, and implementation of a multitude of successful projects. Mike currently manages industrial development, civil engineering, regulatory permitting, and construction projects in our Mining Sector. He specializes in federal and state regulatory permit approvals, municipal zoning and land development approvals, site development and utility design, erosion and sediment control design, stormwater management design, and ground survey/mapping projects.
Greg has over 20 years of combined experience in the mining industry and consulting industry. Prior to joining EARTHRES, he worked in the mining industry as a construction manager, operations manager and VP of sales. In these roles, he provided plant design, equipment application, sales, and installation oversight for surface and underground operations in hard rock, sand & gravel and coal. In the early part of his career, he was also exposed to many different industries where he used his technical expertise to help his clients improve their operations through process improvement. At EARTHRES, Greg provides business development oversight as well as managing projects where he can apply his varied experience to provide clients with business-friendly solutions to their unique situations. Greg has completed or managed successful projects in the mining, environmental services, and commercial/industrial markets.
